Splendor and the elegance played no small role in this almost uncut concert performance-at its conclusion the young Lodovico Zocche and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester received wild applause. Employing highly diverse and tonally polished playing, the conductor so compellingly brought to life the waltz bliss of the first act no less than the drama of the third, so that a staging was hardly missed.
